OUTFITS | Sweatpants and Sandals

Photobucket

Photobucket

top: DIY
sweatpants: Uniqlo
shoes: Topshop
and a plastic bag

As you can see my new sandals look slightly different from the ones in store. I thought a big chunky reflective heel was enough metal for one shoe. So I tore off the the big shiny clasps on the ankle straps and replaced them with a pair of press studs on the inside of the straps. Now the fastenings are invisible and the sandals look much more subtle and minimalistic don't you think?

The shoes are fantastic!

You would look great no matter what type of buckle was on that shoe but I love how you've made it your own with the DIY.

I already wondered yesterday, when I saw the shoes in your feature and immediately checked them out online. something was different, and I liked yours better. Now I know, and you are absolutely right, one shiny detail is enough :)

Heel mooi! Ik moet zeggen dat ik de schoenen mét de gesp ook al erg mooi vond, maar misschien nu nog wel beter!

The way you've adapted those heels is perfect- I would have never thought to do it myself, but you are totally right, the silver buckles as well as such a statement heel would be overkill. Xx

I still want to try this DIY leather tank top. It looks so great on you.. And those sandals are gorgeous.

I think you are really creative and innovative, but I think this plastic bag is simply ugly. people normally put their garbage into bags like that. not quite fashionable in my opinion.

Agreed, on the minimalism upgrade of the shoes.

What further intrigued me, at first glance, was your lovely meshing of casually-folded sweats and clean-lined (DIY!) tank. What is the material of the top? This is an absolutely perfect ensemble, which I shall now adopt.

Absolutely agree about the buckle. Now they look much more chic and sophisticated than before! One wonders what the stores are thinking sometimes when they design things.... Love the combo btw--I think now I need to go get those grey sweatpants I saw last weekend but was too tired to try on.

I find it incredible that more blogs and forums are not as pleasant as this one. Often times when I land on a website page the articles and other content is so deficient that I move on without delay. That is not the case here. Thanks so much.
